The Red Deer Home Show is the ultimate destination for anyone looking to gain valuable insights and knowledge about home renovation and improvement. The main stage presentations are another highlight of the Red Deer Home Show. These presentations cover a wide range of topics related to home improvement, renovation, and design, with something for everyone.

Industry leading experts, hands on demonstrations and main stage presentations will provide the inspiration and education you need to tackle your next home project.

This year's event promises to be a great one - from gardening, energy efficient renovations and crime prevention strategies - there is something for everyone.  I picked three presentations that I know I want to attend.

1. Growing Food with Curb Appeal with Chelsie Anderson of                                                Chelsie's Soil-ution Chelsie's Gardens

Are you interested in growing your own food but think you're limited to a small backyard vegetable patch? Think again! Chelsie's presentation  will show you how to get creative with your garden and achieve a balance between beauty and practicality.

One of the main benefits of growing food in your front garden is that it can be just as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional. Chelsie will guide you through the process of designing a garden that not only produces delicious organic food for your family but also enhances the overall look and feel of your property.  With the right techniques and guidance, your front garden can be transformed into a stunning and sustainable landscape that your neighbors will envy.

Chelsie's presentation will cover topics such as soil preparation, crop selection, companion planting, and pest management. You'll learn how to make the most of your space, whether it's a small patch or a larger area, and how to create an efficient and productive garden. With her expert guidance, you'll gain the knowledge and skills you need to grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs that can be harvested and enjoyed throughout the growing season.

In addition to providing you with fresh and healthy produce, growing food in your front garden can also be an excellent way to connect with your community and promote sustainable living.

3.  Crime Prevention for your Home with The Central Alberta Crime Prevention Center  CACPC

When it comes to our homes, safety and security are always top priorities. Unfortunately, the risk of criminal activity can never be completely eliminated. However, there are steps you can take to make your home less vulnerable to crime and protect your property and loved ones.

At the Red Deer Home Show, The Central Alberta Crime Prevention Center  will be presenting valuable insights and practical tips on how to safeguard your home against criminal activity. Their presentation is based on CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) strategies, which focus on creating physical environments that discourage criminal behavior.

During the presentation, you'll learn about practical and effective solutions to make your home less vulnerable to crime, such as installing effective exterior lighting and locks, keeping your landscape trimmed and organized, and creating clear sightlines to deter potential intruders. You'll also learn about other simple measures you can take to make your home less attractive to burglars, such as setting up a neighborhood watch or installing a security system.

CACPC are experts in their field, and their presentation is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insights on how to create a secure and safe home environment.
