Well, the month of June was definitely a better month than the previous three months.  The total sales within Calgary was 1,747 units.  The monthly sales activity was nearly 2% lower than activity in 2019, however it was a huge improvement compared to the declines over 40%.  The new listings were 3,335 or a 6% increase over June 2019.

The Canada flag is an international symbol of Canada and embodies all the reasons we enjoy to be proud Canadians. Lester B. Pearson, a former Canadian Prime Minister, had a goal. That goal was to abandon the British flag and take on one of our own. After a long six month battle in the House of Parliament, the Canadian flag was passed on December 15, 1964. Well, 2018 has almost come and gone.  For many, it has been a difficult year.  In the real estate industry we have seen challenging markets before, but this cycle is undoubtedly a difficult one for us all.  Realistically, I feel that we are still on the downside of the market and the indicators are that we are in for another challenging year with a projected further decline of 1% - 2% in prices into 2019. 

I look at this as an opportunity for two important sectors of clients – first time buyersand investors.  For buyers, 2018 was an extremely difficult year with new mortgage rules that resulted in the largest amount of collapsed deals I’ve seen in my 20+ year career.  Despite this, the buyers within our Calgary market continue to understand that we are…
